React the test solution with excess barium chloride to form barium sulfate precipitate, then add magnesium chloride and EDTA standard solution for titration, and indicate the endpoint through a calcium magnesium mixed indicator. Determine the endpoint of titration by color change, record the volume of EDTA standard solution consumed, and calculate the content of sulfate ions.
