In the production process of ion exchange membrane caustic soda, sulfate ions are introduced into the system through three pathways: raw salt, production water used for salt conversion, and sulfate ions generated by the oxidation of sodium sulfite added during salt water dechlorination. If the sulfate ion content in the refined salt water is too high, it will affect the salt concentration and cause sulfate ions to react with other metal ions to form sulfate ions that deposit in the membrane, resulting in an increase in tank voltage and a decrease in current efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to remove the enriched sulfate ions to keep the entire system in equilibrium.
Analysis principle
The sulfate online analyzer is an acid solution that can provide H and can combine with barium ions to produce precipitation. After adding hydrochloric acid, stabilizer, and barium chloride solution to the sample to be tested, the absorbance value is measured. The concentration of sulfate ions is calculated by comparing the absorbance value of the produced barium sulfate particles with the standard curve of sulfate ions, and the measurement results are displayed on an industrial computer. Different concentrations of sulfate ions can be detected, and for samples with higher concentrations, different dilution schemes can be used for detection.
