The KMW-821 ammonia nitrogen water quality analyzer is a new generation water quality analyzer product independently developed by Kaiming Technology (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. It has the characteristics of platformization, miniaturization, modularity, and intelligence. The instrument adopts the national standard HJ 536-2009 "Determination of Ammonia Nitrogen in Water Quality: Salicylic Acid spectrophotometric method" as the detection principle, which can quickly and accurately measure the concentration value of ammonia nitrogen in water quality.

The water sample to be tested undergoes pretreatment. In the presence of alkaline medium (pH=11.6) and catalyst sodium ferrocyanide, ammonia and ammonium ions in the water react with color reagents and hypochlorous acid to form blue compounds. The degree of color change is proportional to the content of reducing substances in the water sample. The analyzer detects this color change and converts it into the value of ammonia nitrogen for output.
